Contact and corrections

This form is the way in. Corrections are the message we most want to receive: a site that makes confident claims about other companies' technology owes readers a way to say it got something wrong.

What happens next is written down rather than promised loosely. A factual error is corrected on the page and logged publicly with the date, the page, what was wrong, and what it now says. See the corrections policy. A claim we cannot verify either way gets downgraded or removed rather than left standing on our authority.

What happens after you send

Handling target by request type.

Factual correction	Reviewed within 5 working days	The page is fixed and the change is logged publicly, or the report is answered with why not.
Privacy or deletion request	Actioned within 30 days	Your data is deleted. Usually much faster; 30 days is the outer bound, not the plan.
Press or research question	As capacity allows	No promised turnaround, because promising one nobody can keep is worse than saying this.
Dataset or replication query	As capacity allows	Study data and scripts are already published, so most answers are on the study page itself.

After sending you will see a confirmation on this page. That confirms the form submitted, not that a human has read it yet. If you left a reply address and the matter needs one, you will get a reply; many corrections are simply actioned and logged without one.

Before you write

Reporting an error? Include the URL and quote the sentence. A source helps but is not required, since "this contradicts the provider's own page, here is the link" is the most useful message we get.

A page looks stale rather than wrong? That is still worth sending. Every page carries a last-verified date on volatile provider claims, and an old date on a fast-moving topic is a legitimate correction even when nothing is inaccurate yet.

Want to reuse a chart, diagram, or dataset? You already can: attribution and a link back are the only ask. Write only if you want the underlying data in a different shape, or want to check a number before you publish it.

Asking whether we can detect or remove a watermark for you? The short answer is no, and it is not a capacity problem: the only detector for a production text watermark is in a private preview we do not hold access to, so we cannot verify presence or removal any more than you can.

What this form stores

Your message, the topic, the page URL if you give one, and a reply address if you choose to leave one. The reply address is used to answer this message and nothing else. Leave it blank and the message is anonymous, though a correction still gets published on its merits.

There is no published email address anywhere on this site, which is deliberate: an address that is not monitored is worse than no address at all. Full detail on the privacy page.
