Text pasted into the checker is processed entirely in your browser and is never sent to a server, logged, or stored. There is no upload step in the tool because there is no upload.
Beyond that, the site collects aggregate analytics, and one email address if you deliberately give it to us.

The tool processes text locally
The watermark checker and cleaner runs as client-side JavaScript. Pasted text stays in the browser tab: it is scanned, transformed, and displayed without a network request, so nothing you paste reaches this site's servers or any third party.
That is verifiable rather than a promise. Open your browser's network panel while using the tool and you will see no request carrying the text.
The practical consequence: we cannot recover, review, or hand over text you pasted, because we never had it.
What is collected
| What | Why | Who processes it |
|---|---|---|
| Aggregate page analytics | Which pages get read, so the site knows what to improve | Google Analytics 4, which sets cookies in your browser |
| Aggregate traffic measurement | Page views and performance, without cookies | Vercel Web Analytics |
| Your email address, only if you submit it | To tell you when a provider-specific watermark check ships | Stored in an Upstash Redis database used only for this list |
| Anything you type into the contact form | To read and act on your message (usually a correction) | Stored in the same Upstash Redis database, separately from the email list |
| Standard server request logs | Serving the site and diagnosing faults | The hosting provider |
There is no account system, no advertising network, no cross-site tracking pixel, and no sale of data. The email list is used for the thing it was collected for and nothing else.
Retention and your rights
Analytics data is retained under the processor's own retention settings and is aggregate rather than identifying. Waitlist emails are kept until the list is used or you ask for removal.
To have your details removed, or to ask what is held about you, say so through the contact form and it will be deleted. You can include the address you signed up with in the message; you do not have to leave a reply address as well.
If you are in the EU or UK, the lawful basis for the waitlist is your consent, given by submitting the form, and you can withdraw it at any time by the same route.
